Steinenhausen Castle is a baroque palace complex near Melkendorf, a district of Kulmbach in Upper Franconia. The imposing building was owned by a line of Barons von Guttenberg for centuries. It stands directly at the confluence of the Red and White Main. The Main begins at the confluence of the Main behind the castle.

In 1987 the castle became state owned. The Kulmbach field office of the Bavarian State Office for the Environment is located there. Extensive interior and exterior renovations significantly shape the appearance of the baroque castle.

Beautiful castle, which was probably built in the 15th century and has a long history. Today it serves as a field service of the Bavarian State Office for the Environment.
