The present church is a medieval church built around 1300 as a fortified church with a cemetery and used as a sanctuary in wartime. Impressive are the late Gothic figurative murals above the pulpit altar. They were created in about 1450 as Seccomalerei, but were rediscovered in 1977 during a renovation. At the center of the painting are the apostles Peter and Paul, who hold the handkerchief of Christ in their hands (Wikipedia).
