The name - as well as everything about this ruin is unknown. It is certain that it is one of the oldest palaces of the Palatinate and since the year 2000 it has been protected by UNESCO.

  • The Schlössel or Waldschlössel is a castle from the early Middle Ages. As one of the oldest castles in the Palatinate, the dense castle was built around the year 1030 and was long forgotten. It was not until 1855 that she "reappeared" when stones were being removed for the Pfalzklinik.

Norbert Heugel has also published a very nice video for this castle, which is also worth a visit for an extended rest.
