Schlössel

The name - as well as everything about this ruin is unknown. It is certain that it is one of the oldest palaces of the Palatinate and since the year 2000 it has been protected by UNESCO.

The Schlössel or Waldschlössel is a castle from the early Middle Ages. As one of the oldest castles in the Palatinate, the dense castle was built around the year 1030 and was long forgotten. It was not until 1855 that she "reappeared" when stones were being removed for the Pfalzklinik.

One of the oldest castle complexes in the Palatinate. Is on the Treutesberg near Klingenmünster.

You can still see the surrounding protective wall. The wall can be climbed via iron stairs and there are rest areas with tables and benches in the ruin.

The view to the Madenburg is worthwhile.

The Waldschlössel on the Treutelsberg is described as a tower hill castle and is the oldest castle complex in the Palatinate.

Hundreds of lizards are there. There is rustling and scurrying everywhere. Just beautiful!
