The name - as well as everything about this ruin is unknown. It is certain that it is one of the oldest palaces of the Palatinate and since the year 2000 it has been protected by UNESCO.

The Schlössel or Waldschlössel is a castle from the early Middle Ages. As one of the oldest castles in the Palatinate, the castle was built around 1030 and fell into oblivion for a long time. It was only in 1855 that when the stones were removed for the Palatine Clinic, it reappeared. Also for this castle, whose visit is also worthwhile for a long break, Norbert Heugel has published a very nice video.
