The church was completed in its current exterior form in 1848 after two years of construction. However, little of its original furnishings remains. The large bell was cast on September 15, 1412. The bell frame was last renovated in 2001. In the early 1960s, extensive remodeling took place, particularly in the altar area. The high pulpit was removed and, as a temporary solution, a small round window was installed. The altar platform was extended to the church walls.

Hiking

The Protestant church dates back to a Nazarius church mentioned in 770, but was built between 1846 and 1848 on a different site than its dilapidated predecessor. The war memorial from 1870/71 near the Protestant church was designed by the Bretten sculptor Ludwig Christof Meffle. Opposite the church is the historic Protestant rectory.
