The GRASSI Museum of Applied Arts in Leipzig is a municipal institution and is one of the three museums in the Grassi complex (along with the Museum of Ethnology and the Museum of Musical Instruments). After the Kunstgewerbemuseum Berlin, it is the oldest Kunstgewerbemuseum in Germany; his collections are among the most important in Europe.

The Grassi Museum is now one of the largest museum complexes in Germany. It houses three museums of international importance: the Museum of Ethnology, the Museum of Arts and Crafts and the Musical Instrument Museum of the University of Leipzig. One of Leipzig's Bauhaus architects, city architect James Bühring, took clinker architecture as a model for his architectural projects and developed a fusion of styles from it, together with the expressive contours of Art Deco, which was popularly known as the "Zackenstil". Leipzig city architect Hubert Ritter was impressed by this fusion of styles and incorporated it into the design for the Grassi Museum and the design of the impressive "Pfeilerhalle". This hall is one of the most beautiful interiors of German Art Deco. Since its renovation in 2010, it has once again shined in all its glory.

The Grassi Museum, opened in 1874 as the second arts and crafts museum ever (!), since 1925/29 at this location, in a beautifully restored Art Deco, collects treasures of "commercial art" from Art Nouveau, Bauhaus to today! (No, even older pieces (Roman)) - Don't miss it! That's great!
