The Blechburg, which was destroyed by arson in the Second World War, is a former observation tower that was once seventeen meters high and has an octagonal floor plan. A large fountain basin and a viewing bastion on the edge of the slope are part of the ensemble and have been preserved to this day. Even if the castle is privately owned today, access to the sheet metal castle is permitted.

Hermanns Blechburg is a small cultural monument in Radebeul, Saxony (Oberlößnitz district); today a ruin. It was built in 1844 and served as a lookout tower. Today only a small remnant of the octagonal bay tower remains. The tin castle was designed and built by the Dresden architect Woldemar Hermann. The builder was the vineyard owner and wine merchant August Traugott Hantzsch. It is said that the observation tower was set on fire in 1944 by a Hitler Youth and burned down.

The entire area is now privately owned, the former view of the Elbe Valley is still there, albeit limited. It is to be hoped that the current owners will give the Blechburg a worthy future and that the area will remain open to the public.
