A small park was created at the Simmerbach.

There are benches, play equipment, a boules court and a vineyard that gives it its name.

According to an information board, this is looked after by the students in a school and is the only vineyard in Simmern. With ERO, a large manufacturer of reading machines is based in Simmern.

The care of the vineyard leaves a lot to be desired. It seems that only one of the former 4 grape varieties is growing and this grows like a bush, so it was not cut and shaped.

1/2022: The vineyard is being tended again. The vines are cut and the rows are weed-free.

Between Mühlengasse and Koblenzer Straße there was a little-used allotment garden for a while. Due to the wonderful location directly on the Simmerbach and close to the city center, it was decided to create a 1-hectare city park here. The project was therefore part of the overall concept for the development of the Simmerbachaue in the city area, which was decided in 2003, with the aim of making the Simmerbachaue tangible for the population.

The name "Wingertsbergpark" comes from the field name "Am Wingertsberg", which suggests a former wine-growing use.

Construction work began in September 2010 with the site being completely cleared. In addition to the road construction work and the new wooden bridge, part of the bank of the Simmerbachaue was renatured. The bank was flattened so that the population now has direct access to the Simmerbach.
