    In the middle of the 18th century, one of the Lords of Lobkovice (the one from Eisenberg Castle above) planned to build a chapel for a relic, the Holy Thorn (from Christ's Crown of Thorns), which was kept in the castle chapel. About 500m below the castle on the slope a round building was built, which should become a place of pilgrimage. Unfortunately the builder was hit by a brick; the construction stopped. His descendant, Felix Popel von Lobkowitz, continued to build, but was killed by a tree... In addition, the dome roof collapsed several times after completion... Then the project was finally abandoned; henceforth it was called the Devil's Chapel.
