Mahlberg (613 m)
There is a sign on the tower of the Mahlberg with the following inscription:
The first tower was built in 1896 under Grand Duke Friedrich I of Baden, protector of the Karlsruhe section of the Baden Black Forest Association. Artillery shelling on April 10, 1945 damaged the tower so badly that it had to be demolished in August 1961 The laying of the foundation stone took place on June 3, 1962, and the inauguration of the new Karlsruhe tower took place on September 29, 1962 was rebuilt.
The tower is the destination of many hikers in summer and winter. It is freely accessible and a small contribution to conservation is requested on Sundays. There is a public grill at the foot of the tower.
The damage caused by hurricane Lothar is particularly evident on Mahlberg.
