The historic palace was one of the late main works of the Dresden Baroque. After it was destroyed in World War II, it was gradually rebuilt until 2000. The palace, which has been reconstructed in a modified form, is used as an office building and restaurant.

The Coselpalais is located in the center of Dresden. Right next to the world-famous Frauenkirche, the building touches on the former arsenal and fortifications and integrates the impressive remains of the former powder tower in the basement.
In 1745/1746, master builder Johann Christoff Knöffel built two representative residential buildings on the site of the current Coselpalais, including the foundation walls, which burned down in 1760 after Prussian artillery fire during the Seven Years' War.
Coselpalais is now a restaurant and grand café.
