The road is closed to motor vehicles at certain points of the year. Which turns this into a must do road. It climbs for miles out of the valley floor but the views at the top are stunning

The road is closed on Sundays and bank holidays, from the beginning of May until the end of September, between 11:00-16:00.

It was lovely and quiet to ride on a Tuesday morning, even though it was open. Only one or two cars and all very courteous. Long beautiful climb to enjoy, and seeing the river change as you climb is good too.
