Please check local regulations for: Peak District National Park
In the South West Peak region of the glorious Peak District National Park, Cats Tor sits on a ridge to the north of Shining Tor. It rises to 1,699 feet (518 m) and is a majestic point on this long and rambling ridge. Its terrain is moorland, with cotton grass bobbing in the wind and far reaching views across the diverse landscapes and folded hills.
This ridge rises between the Goyt Valley and Todd Brook and is easy to explore in its entirety, a particularly wonderful adventure. For the most direct ascent, you can park at Pym Chair car park, which takes much of the height out of the journey, ideal for families with young children. Alternatively, there’s plenty of parking dotted along the Goyt Valley and the vast network of trails and paths means you can create as long or as short an expedition as you like.

It's a little exposed here so have a coat at the ready as the wind even on a warm day can cut through you.
