From this Renaissance town hall, Mayor Mgr. Rudolf Salvetr and his team manage the affairs of the city of Klatovy and its approximately 22,000 inhabitants. The town hall is a magnificent Renaissance palace, the construction of which began in 1557. It was intended to showcase the city's wealth at the time. Between 1923 and 1925, it was rebuilt by the renowned architect Josef Fanta in the Neo-Renaissance style, receiving its present-day paintings and sculptures. The building bears witness to the significant history of the royal town on the edge of the Bohemian Forest.
