According to an inscription, the Beuron monastery could have been founded here in 777. The chapel was probably built from the remains of a nearby castle.

A very nicely arranged chapel at the top of the Donautrauf. With benches in front of it, ideal for a small picnic.
Texts are worked into the chapel wall on stones that tell about the origins and history of this chapel. Christian sayings are of course also included.
Originally the Beuron Monastery is said to have been founded at this location.
