The Keldby Church, famous for its frescoes, is located on the main road to Møns Klint in the village of Keldby, 4 km east of Stege on the Danish island of Møn. The imposing red brick church is one of the three Møn churches created by the Elmelunde master in the late 15th century.Wikipedia.de

The holy spring Helsekilden, which gave the village the name Keldby in 1135, lost its importance after the end of the Danish-Swedish wars at the beginning of the 19th century. Records from 1372 show that the church was dedicated to St. Andrew.

A healing spring was discovered at the eastern end of the Steger Moors. This resulted in a small village called Kildeby (Danish kilde = source, by = place). Pilgrims came to the source, so of course a church was built here. The spring itself no longer exists today, but the red brick church has been preserved.
