Based on the article in the Tagesspiegel and the direct neighborhood, I was curious to see what the bloom looks like this year.
Unfortunately, I'm already a bit late in the year and the flowers are meager. Flowers can only be seen here and there. A few days ago, crowds of people were still enjoying the splendor of the flowers.

Today with a very cold wind at the beginning, we went from the hiking car park up on the bark beetle path to the frog rock. At the height it went on in the freezing cold wind to the pigeon rock. There we met two different hiking groups. This was followed by the descent on a hiking path through the wonderfully natural Zwißeltal with a small stream. Once at the bottom we followed a wide path which, next to a wide river, leads continuously up the Eckertal to the Eckertalsperre. We leave the Rabenstein rock with the lynx enclosure on the right. The Eckertalsperre was divided in the middle by the "Inner German border". We continued along the dammed lake towards Brocken, later on the Pionierweg to the Scharfensteinhütte. There it went uphill again, along the height on snow-covered paths and then slowly down again along the Ilse on beautiful hiking trails. Shortly before the goal, we took another swing to Ilsenstein, which was worth it with delicious waffles, a café and a piccolo. The way back was then at the height and finally in steep serpentines back to the starting point.
