This bike path leads in large part over the former railway line to the coal mine Lorraine, which was closed already in the 1960ern. The route is over many parts really nice and allows the low-traffic drive from Bochum Gerthe to Altenbochum, where you then have connection to the Springorumradweg. The only flaw: The road is not consistently passable, so you have to connect the sections on roads.
