This is the Half Way Hut; a small and humble wooden shelter in the Forest of Glen Tanar National Nature Reserve, not far from Ballater village and Glen Tanar. It's a good place to shelter from the elements or enjoy a picnic lunch, as you follow along the Water of Tanar.

As of July 2022, the hut's still here; a welcome shelter from the rain, but there are holes in doors/windows. If you were determined to stay longer in worse conditions, a little bit of plastic sheet and some pins would go a long way.
