The townscape of Raumland is determined by the beautiful church. Whoever visits the place should deal with its history.

The village has a more than 400 year old slate tradition. Today, the slate show mine (schieferschaubergwerk.de) pit "Delle" testifies to this tradition-steeped past and invites visitors to an eventful walk in the "underworld". Even marriage is possible "underground". Visually, the nature reserve "Hörren mining area" is reminiscent of slate mining. Old abandoned tunnels with a depth of up to 800 m are reminiscent of this old craft. This is also where the predicate and premium hiking trail "Wittgensteiner Schieferpfad", one of the most extraordinary and exciting hiking trails in Germany, as well as the Ederauen Cycle Path runs. Another attraction of our town is the Bonifatiuskirche, a late Romanesque, south westphalian hall church from the 12th century and is the landmark building. The bells ringed around 1350 and thus one of the oldest in Westphalia. In the sanctuary of the church (kg-raumland.de) late medieval (probably from the second half of the 15th century) wall frescoes have been exposed, which depict the Passion of Christ in 12 fields.
