The former Hörre slate quarry is located on the slopes of the Eder. It reminds of the once important branch of industry. The tunnel systems, which are around five kilometers long, are now an important habitat for bats.
In addition, the rare and non-poisonous smooth snake bask on the slate heaps and special plants grow in the crevices between the stones.
