Since September 2024, a 65 by 90 centimeter bronze model of Cologne Cathedral has stood at the foot of the cathedral's south tower. The bronze model is intended to make the cathedral more accessible, especially for people with visual impairments. Tactile and text panels are attached to the sides of the base, providing information in Braille and written form.
The model, which cost approximately €40,000, was financed by proceeds from the carnival sessions of the Domsitzung e. V. association. It was created by the artist and master goldsmith Ingo Telkmann.
