Mont Saint Odile is a really imposing monastery / castle ruin. From here you have a magnificent view of the Rhine plain. With the bike up it goes either from the Rhine plain from Barr or from the hinterland over the winding, slightly rising country roads with moderate traffic. It is only around the monastery that it gets very crowded at the weekend. Tip: The monastery is only open to cars from the back (from the Rhine valley). But you can also take a Forrestiere route from the other side. There are hardly any cars there. I usually drive up the more busy street to the monastery and then down the street that is closed to cars. It's more fun and safer.

Everything is there for the cyclist after the ascent: nice view of the valley, public toilet, refreshment bar
