The waterworks at the Red Gate in Augsburg is the large and small water tower as well as the box tower as seen from the Brunnenmeisterhof (east). The Lochbach, which flows in front of the Oberer Brunnenmeisterhaus and is called Vorderer Lech from here on, is the Brunnenbach, whose water is directed through several openings in the city wall into the Brunnenmeisterhof, drives the water wheels and is pumped up into the water towers.
