In the 1965/1966 school year, when I was in fifth grade, we, the students of what was then the "Franjo Rezač" elementary school, moved from the old school buildings in Solana and Irac to a new, large, and then ultra-modern and well-equipped school building. It was a huge celebration for the entire Kreka district. The residents of Kreka, especially the coal mine workers who contributed financially to the construction of the school for their and other children, were immensely proud. Even today, part of this now-obsolete building houses a new elementary school, and the other part houses the Tuzla Canton Pedagogical Institute.
