The first tons of coal were mined in 1884 at the Kreka mine for the saltworks in Simin Han. In 1885, the mine was spun off into an independent organization, whose operations and development began to take shape. The first quantities of coal were extracted on September 22, 1884, at an open-pit mine on the main outcrop on the left bank of the Kreka River. Shortly afterwards, the Vilma shaft was built, and the development of the southern Krojčica district began. These were the first facilities where future coal mining in Kreka was developed.

In the 1960s, my father worked in this building as a financial officer in the support services of the management of, first, the Kreka Coal Mine, and later, after several coal mine mergers, at SOUR Tito's Coal Mines Kreka-Banići. In 1973, I also started working at Tito's Coal Mines as a mining technician.
