After a disco or dance night ('igranka'), which in those days in a working-class town like Tuzla would end as early as 10 p.m., some people ('raja') would go to 'Pivnica' on Tito's Street, to the basement of the local brewery, for a glass mug ('krigla') of 'Tuzlanski pilsner'. There was no time for anything more, because closing time ('fajront') of 'Pivnica' was at 11 p.m.

Hiking

Taverna Pivnica is located in the basement of an old brewery building in Tuzla. Upon arrival, you will be immediately drawn to the unique construction of the building, which dates back to 1884. The interior is mainly made of stone and wood, which is characteristic of all pubs. A special detail are the original stone walls of the pub.

Pivara Tuzla (my first employer) was founded in 1884 under the name Erste Dampf Brauerei (the first steam brewery) Dolnja Tuzla, by Tasing and Köhn, who introduced a Czech pilsner brewing technique.
