The Marienkapelle to Scheßlitz is also called "Stadtkapelle St. Marien" or "Frauenkapelle". On the site of today's chapel was probably the first church of Scheßlitz. The Marienkapelle was once the destination of numerous pilgrimages. The present chapel was built from 1884 to 1885. The miraculous image behind the glass shrine on the left side altar dates from the earlier church and probably dates back to 1460.
