The old chapel from the 17th and 18th centuries with a three-sided choir was demolished at that time. On August 18, 1908, a solemn laying of the foundation stone took place. The consecration of the new church was made by Bishop Michael Felix Korum on May 27, 1909.
The church belongs to the parish community Morbach.
