The present church in Hunolstein was built in the years 1907 to 1909 according to a design by the Koblenz architect Leopold Schweitzer and is the hl. Consecrated to John Baptist.
The old chapel from the 17th and 18th centuries with a three-sided choir was demolished at that time. On August 18, 1908, a solemn laying of the foundation stone took place. The consecration of the new church was made by Bishop Michael Felix Korum on May 27, 1909.
The church belongs to the parish community Morbach.

A very nice church.

Today's church in Hunolstein was built between 1907 and 1909. The old chapel from the 17th and 18th centuries with a three-sided choir was then demolished. On August 18, 1908, the foundation stone was ceremoniously laid. The consecration of the new church was made by Bishop Michael Felix Korum on May 27, 1909.

The cost of the construction amounted to 49,683.67 M. The financing was carried out as follows:
Existing credit 2,200 M.
Collected 27,000 M.
Bond 19,000 M.

Then there were the costs for the interior design. These amounted to 32,694.47 marks and were raised through church collections and additional donations.
