It is a terminal station that is now used exclusively by the Hamburg S-Bahn.

Until 1997 there was freight traffic in Blankenese, which was becoming increasingly scarce in the end: freight trains that drove to and from the Rissen-Oelweiche station had to turn heads in Blankenese.

The “B” signal box from 1927 has been preserved and is in operation. The semaphore signals within the station are set from here.

    Story:
On May 19, 1867, the railway line to Altona was opened and the passenger and freight stations were put into operation.

Here you can take the S-Bahn via the Landungsbrücken, the Jungfernstieg and the main train station to the airport and Poppenbüttel. Simple fast connection.
