Since it was quite cold at that time of year, we went to this museum and were pleasantly surprised. It is located on the island of Djurgården and is easily accessible on foot and by public transport. Here there are permanent and changing exhibitions with fashion, folk costumes, folk art, toys, furnished rooms with laid tables and everyday objects from different strata of the population from centuries past to the present day. It is a very varied and interesting museum.

The Nordic Museum is located on the island of Djurgården in Stockholm and is responsible for presenting the cultural history and ethnic groups in Sweden. The oldest exhibits date from around the beginning of the 16th century.

Hiking

The museum was founded at the end of the 19th century by Artur Hazelius. The museum moved into its current building in 1907. The Renaissance-style building by architect Isak Gustaf Clason is particularly notable for its large central hall. This is 125 m long and 24 m high. In its centre is a six-metre-high, polychrome wooden statue by the sculptor Carl Milles, depicting King Gustav Vasa sitting on his throne.
