Kamor Trestenkopf

Although the Kamor Trestenkopf is only a short distance from the Hohe Kasten, it is a lot quieter here and the view is at least as beautiful.
The way over the Unter Kamor to the Kamor Trestenkopf is a beautiful mountain hiking trail, the road that leads up is only crossed briefly and the last stretch of the road can be bypassed by simply following the ridge to the Kamor Trestenkopf, which I personally do a lot find it nicer.

The Kamor is also a wonderful destination in winter with snowshoes. Crossing to the Kastensattel and descending to Ruhesitz is strongly discouraged if there is a lot of snow, as it is too steep and prone to avalanches. So via Stofel to the Kamor and back on the same route!

It's worth it in both summer and winter

The panorama that awaits you on the camera cannot be described in photos or words. From this rather unknown summit, one has an excellent view of the "majesties" of the Alpstein. While the Hohe Kasten is in a pretty pose nearby, the view glides over the exposed mountain range down to the Altmann, from there over to the Säntis and the Altalpentobel in the distance. The deep dark lakes in the valleys are beautiful.

If you're lucky, you'll be all alone up here and have the extremely beautiful all-round view all to yourself.

The Kamor is a mountain between the St. Gallen Rhine Valley and Appenzell Innerrhoden in Switzerland and is at an altitude of 1751 m above sea level. M. The name comes from Romansh: ganda mora, black Gand (scree slope, rock) was already Gantmor in 1361 and from it today's Kamor (with the stress on the second syllable, in the dialect [kxaˈmoːr]).

Nice views of Hoher Kasten from here but in itself not very interesting...

Mega view, easy to reach via the mountain path from Plona. In theory, you could also master everything with an (E-)MTB :)
