Great place to stop after hiking up the steep trail from Pfannenstiel. Fantastic scenery in the valley and the mountains around it.

  • Pack your bathing suit – the lake is ideal for swimming. Unfortunately, in August 2018 it was so hot that the lake had dried up. In September 2018 there was already a little water in it again.

  • Long drawn and very beautiful lake in the narrow valley. In dry summers, it carries little water.

  • Very idyllic mountain lake without direct outflow (probably underground drain into the Rhine Valley).

  • Crowded with people in summer. A side trip in autumn is very worthwhile. Then it is calmer.

  • A shallow and calm lake, suitable for children, it is very small. There are those who use this as a destination and choose to spend a relaxing day here.
The path that arrives there is a rather steep dirt road, be careful of the descent on the way back (I risked slipping myself a couple of times).

  • The volume of water varies with the seasons, from low to very low, suitable for families with children. Many stop here in search of relaxation.
The climb is quite steep, be careful on the way back because you slip on the dirt road.
