The old Weilheimer prison was first mentioned in 1522 as a "Amtshaus". After demolition and rebuilding in 1835, the building was first used as a royal Bavarian prison. In the following years until its closure in 1992, it remained a prison. From 1997, the conversion to the municipal music school, which was inaugurated in 1999.
