Military History Museum, Vienna
The Military History Museum - Military History Institute in Vienna is the military history museum of the Austrian Armed Forces and previous Austrian armies. It documents the history of the Austrian military from the 16th century to the present, in particular using military technology such as weapons, vehicles and military equipment, but also in photographs, paintings and documents. Part of the museum is also dedicated to the history of the Austrian Navy. The museum, which is owned by the federal government, is not affiliated with the Austrian federal museums, but is directly subordinate to the Federal Ministry of Defense.[ Since autumn 2019 there has been a controversy about the exhibition concept due to allegations of historical revisionism. The future of the museum and a reorientation are being discussed publicly.

Vienna Arsenal: Object 1, the former headquarters building on Ghegastraße, today a residential building with offices, access to the Museum of Military History
August 7, 2022
The Arsenal Object 1 is the former headquarters building of the Arsenal, a historical military building complex in Vienna's 3rd district. Arsenal Object 1 was built between 1849 and 1856 in the Italian Neo-Renaissance style and served as the administrative and residential quarters of the arsenal commander.
Today, Arsenal Object 1 is a residential building with offices, which also offers access to the Museum of Military History. The Museum of Military History is one of the most important military history museums in the world, showing the history of the Austrian armed forces from late antiquity to the present day. You can see here, among other things, the car in which Archduke Franz Ferdinand was murdered in Sarajevo in 1914 or the armor of Emperor Maximilian I.
The Arsenal Object 1 is an impressive structure that reflects the architecture and history of the Arsenal.
