Museum of Ethnography (Néprajzi Múzeum)

The usually quiet square in the government district was the site of numerous political demonstrations, such as on 23 and 25 October 1956 in connection with the Hungarian popular uprising - on the 25th was shot by snipers of the political police ÁVO in the peaceful crowd.

On the façade of the Service Economique Régional (the authority of the Regionlaen Wirtschaftsdienst), opposite the parliament are still VERY clearly visible traces from the past (1956).

Lajos Kossuth de Kossuth et Udvard [lɒjoʃ koʃut] (also Ludwig Kossuth) (born September 19, 1802 in Monok, Semplin County, Hungary, † March 20, 1894 in Turin, Italy) was a lawyer, politician and in the years 1848/49 one of the leaders of the Hungarian independence investigation against Austria. Even after the suppression of the revolution, he sat down in exile until his death for the independence of Hungary from the Empire of Austria (from 1867 Austria-Hungary). To the present Kossuth is considered a Hungarian national hero.
