Very nice castle, unfortunately not open to the public. The elegant three-winged rococo building significantly shapes the image of the place. The complex is still the residence of the von Rotenhan family to this day.

The palace complex with farm buildings and park, on the site of an earlier moated castle, largely determines the townscape. The elegant Rococo complex is still inhabited by the Rotenhan family and is therefore not open to the public.
Baron Johann Friedrich von Rotenhan had the three-wing Rococo building started in 1751 with the north wing according to the plans of Johann David Steingruber from Ansbach. The main wing was built in 1756 and the south wing in 1765. The actual front side looks east over a high terrace and a wide stone staircase into the castle park on the Baunach. It is a large English park in the middle of which is the orangery, built in 1774.

But the castle is also very inviting from the village square. The most beautiful room of this representative building is the “Great Hall” decorated with faience and rococo stucco. The two side wings opening to the street contain living rooms, rooms of the estate administration and the family archive.

A welcome guest in the castle was the poet Friedrich Rückert around 1810, who sought the very young magistrate's daughter Agnes Müller and also dedicated some poems to her.

Rentweinsdorf Castle, together with the parish church opposite, forms the centre of the market town of Rentweinsdorf (administrative community of Ebern) in the Haßberge district in Lower Franconia. The elegant Rococo complex is still inhabited and is not open to the public.
