Eguisheim in Alsace is a romantic wine village. It is located in the middle of the Alsatian vineyards and is therefore also the home of many wineries. Here, the Eichberg and the Pfersigberg produce two of the best wines in the region. The village is located about 6 km from Colmar and has been awarded several times as the most beautiful village in France. And rightly so. The flower-adorned medieval houses enchant every visitor. For this Eguisheim has received an award with four flowers from the National Flower Fairbill. The place was founded in 1257.
The neo-Romanesque-Byzantine St. Leo chapel in the center, the castle with its defensive walls, the old town with its half-timbered houses and the parish church of Peter-and-Paul from the 19th century.

This medieval village appeals because of its modest size, its unique architecture, its bloom in abundance in the beautiful season, but also because of its authentic charm during the Christmas season, where many animations are offered around the Christmas market.
Eguisheim got its fame from its architectural ensemble, saved from the ravages of history and intelligently preserved.

This is for sure the "main photo motive" of Eguisheim. I would like to know how many photos of it exist ...; D It looks very nice, too.
Eguisheim is supposed to be the most beautiful village in France. I can not judge that, because I do not know all the villages;) - but it's definitely something to it. But the nicest thing is in Eguishein in the evening, when the day trippers are gone, and it has become a little quieter. Then a good wine of the region in one of the beautiful inns (I can only recommend the Auberge du Rempard) - and the holiday mood is perfect!
