Nice view with small chapel. Tip: Do not take the normal route, but take the small dirt road that leads relatively steep up and can be found in the route at Komoot.

Magnificent views of the Rur valley and the reservoir.
The Waldkappelle was built by the Arbeitsgemeinschaft Obermaubach from 1994 to 1996 and is open to visitors.
This "Eifel-Bick" is a good place for a rest and there are enough benches available

Well-kept chapel, which was built especially for walkers, therefore unlike so many others not locked.
Outdoor seating with views, some with tables.

In the immediate vicinity of the forest chapel stands a memorial stone in honor of Countess Alveradis von Molbach (circa 1155-1222).
On the information board the legend of Alveradis can be read in detail.

Beautiful view of the Obermaubacher See. The chapel was closed on the last visit only with a sliding bar, also nice from the inside.

You have to go around the chapel to see the Eifel view. But that is a few 100m further much more beautiful.

This Eifel view on the Mausauel, above the reservoir Obermaubach, is located at an altitude of 250 m above sea level. NN and offers in north (west) Licher direction a view beyond the reservoir on the last hills of the northern Eifel before the transition to the Jülich-Zülpicher Börde.
The Waldkapelle was built by members of the Arbeitsgemeinschaft Obermaubach between December 1994 and May 1996.

This place overlooking the old Castrum Molbach (two-wing moated castle at the eastern entrance of Obermaubach) is to remember the donations of Countess Alverdis of Molbach. In the 12th / 13th century the most famous woman of this homeland
