Magnificent view of the Rur Valley and the reservoir.
The forest chapel was built between 1994 and 1996 by the Obermaubach working group and is open to visitors.
This "Eifel-Bick" is a good place for a rest and there are enough benches available.
In the immediate vicinity of the forest chapel there is a memorial stone in honor of Countess Alveradis von Molbach (approx. 1155 to 1222).
The legend of Alveradis can be read in detail on the information board.

The "Eifel-Blicke" are an initiative of the German-Belgian Nature Park
and from Rureifel-Tourism e. V.. There are particularly beautiful vantage points in the Eifel.
(There are over 60 of these and IF THE KOMOOT TEAM DON'T DELETE THEM, I'll try to collect them all!)
This Eifel view of the Mausauel, above the Obermaubach reservoir, is at an altitude of 250 m above sea level. NN and offers a north (west) view over the reservoir to the last hills of the North Eifel before the transition to the Jülich-Zülpicher Börde.
The forest chapel was built by members of the "Working Group Obermaubach" between December 1994 and May 1996.

Nice view with small chapel. Tip: Do not take the normal route, but take the small dirt road that leads relatively steep up and can be found in the route at Komoot.

Beautiful view of the Obermaubacher See. The chapel was closed on the last visit only with a sliding bar, also nice from the inside.

This place overlooking the old Castrum Molbach (two-wing moated castle at the eastern entrance of Obermaubach) is to remember the donations of Countess Alverdis of Molbach. In the 12th / 13th century the most famous woman of this homeland
