The GEMAAL from Beusichem to Zoelmond, called DE NEUST, was built in 1926 in a traditionalist style with some influences from the Amsterdam School. The design and installation were provided by the Landbouwhuis in Sneek. The pumping station was created in 1869 as the "Steam pumping station of the village polder Beusichem and Zoelmond". It is located on the east side of a strong meander of the Linge to the west of the village of Tricht. The Bisschopsgraaf and Laaggraafsche Wetering flow into the Linge via the pumping station located on the north side of the Lingedijk. On the east side of Tricht there is a second pumping station that connects the Linge with the Hooglandsche Wetering.

The two waterways were merged around 1960.

In 1926 the steam pumping station was replaced by the current electric pumping station, comparable to the one on the east side of Tricht. Two facade stones remain from the old pumping station, which have been incorporated into one of the buildings in the complex.
