The church in Tricht, originally dedicated to St. Peter, originated from a chapel that was founded in 1315 within the parish of Buurmalsen. In 1389, the chapel was elevated to parish church.
Outside the church, it is definitely worth seeing the statue of St. Peter, the namesake of the church. This statue was placed in June 1994 by the Romanian sculptor Joszef Szöke, as a token of gratitude for the help that Tricht offers to Romania.
