The bronze statue of Emperor Trajan at Tower Hill stands impressively in front of a section of the original Roman London Wall, presented in 1980 as a bequest from P.B. "Tubby" Clayton, founder of Toc H. This interesting sculpture has a curious history - the Museum of London believes it was rescued from a Southampton scrapyard in the 1920s, and experts note that the head doesn't actually match the body, as it's a cast of a late 1st century statue found in Minturno.
