Our last day in Prague took us to the National Museum. The collections impressed us, and the exhibition layout worked well. After exploring the museum, we grabbed our bags from the hotel and headed to the train station. The Baltic Express lived up to its reputation for delays—we spent an hour waiting in Wrocław, plus another 30 minutes on top of that 🙄. Prague still has plenty of hidden corners worth discovering. The main tourist spots can get overwhelming with crowds, so we'll focus on the quieter gems next time 🗺️.

We kicked off our third (and last) day in Prague with a morning visit to Prague Castle. We explored St. Vitus Cathedral ⛪, St. George's Basilica, and wandered through the famous Golden Lane 🏘️. The architecture was stunning, though we had to navigate through dense tourist crowds. From the castle, we headed uphill to Petřín Tower 🗼 for panoramic views of the city. The descent took us into Malá Strana (Lesser Town), where we discovered a cozy local restaurant with duck, dumplings, and local beer🍽️.

We grabbed waffles at Coffee & Waffles before heading out into Josefov despite the persistent rain. The afternoon walk took us through the historic Jewish Quarter's narrow streets. Both the cemetery and synagogues had already closed for the day. At the Old-New Synagogue we joked about not disturbing the legendary Golem 👀 supposedly still hidden somewhere in the attic rafters. The wet cobblestones and quiet streets gave the quarter an atmospheric, almost eerie feel 🌧️

Started the morning at Veletržní Palace, home to Prague's National Gallery of modern art 🖼️. After grabbing a quick bite at Mr. HotDog (yes, really!), we checked out the Technical Museum - though it didn't quite live up to expectations 🤷♂️. The day wrapped up with a rainy walk up Petřín Hill to see the giant Metronome, a 23-meter tall monument that's been keeping time over the city since 1991 ⏰. Despite the drizzle, the views from Letná Park made it worth the trek.

After a hearty Czech lunch at Malostranská beseda, we headed back through Kampa Island, Prague's charming riverside retreat. 🎨 We popped into the Kampa Museum to check out their contemporary art collection, then crossed Legia Bridge with its stellar views of Prague Castle and Charles Bridge. 🏰 The Legia Park turned out to be a chill spot with unexpected locals - nutrias who've gotten pretty comfortable with human visitors sharing snacks. 🦫

Arrived early morning via the Baltic Express train (express in name only) and dropped our bags at the hotel before heading out to reacquaint myself with Prague after two decades away. 🎬 We stumbled upon the city's hidden gem - the Film Museum - a pleasant surprise off the beaten path. While Prague remains undeniably picturesque, the zombie-like tourist hordes at the main attractions can be overwhelming. 🧟 Charles Bridge? Worth crossing once for the experience, but honestly looks better from the riverbank viewpoints. The trick is knowing where the crowds congregate and exploring elsewhere. ⭐

A local fisherman tipped me off about this spot the day before while mushroom hunting. Started at the port in Radzewice and followed the Warta westward before looping back inland. Morning brought steaming river water and thick fog everywhere 🌊. When the sun finally broke through, birds went crazy – behaving almost like it was spring. Spotted woodpeckers, nuthatches, finches, jays, skylarks, swans, and geese flying overhead 🦆. Zero people around, just nature doing its thing.

Another morning walk in search of beautiful specimens 🦤. After the rain, it got quite wet, so I regretted not wearing wellies (but honestly, my Bennons held up well in the wet grass for a long time). And I might be repeating myself, but Rogalin Landscape Park is one of my favorite places on this planet 🌍 I haven't found the Dodo bird this time, but I'll keep looking for it.

Set off before sunrise to catch the golden hour at Łęgi Rogalińskie, one of Poland's most stunning floodplain forests 🌳. Started from the church parking in Rogalinek - completely empty at 5 AM, just me and the awakening nature🦌. The morning light filtering through the centuries-old trees makes every visit unique. As they say, it's not about catching the rabbit, but enjoying the chase 📷.

A dentist appointment turned into a perfect excuse to test my new-old analog camera around Poznań. The route took me from Garbary through the historic Ostrów Tumski 🏰, across to Śródka district with its famous mural, and finished at Malta Lake 🦆. Warm weather with barely any clouds made for ideal walking conditions. Didn't manage to shoot the whole film roll, so photos will coming later 📷.
