The Köllnische forest is located between Alt-Bottrop and Kirchhellen. The forest was named after the Cologne bishop, who used to own the forest. Today, the Köllnische forest is kept artificially dry because mining has collapsed due to mining and thus the groundwater level has risen.
Many small paths, an open deciduous forest with little undergrowth and several small streams invite you to branch off, you can be nice drift, a compass or a GPS app help the direction not to lose.
