The highlight of this forest and meadow circular hike was the beautifully landscaped moorland path. The "Wasserdell" nature reserve near Dahlem consists of a biotope complex with well-developed heather moorland, peat moss stands, and alder buckthorn bushes, as well as the nutrient-poor moor stream with a small erkenbuch forest. The moorland path's accessible wooden boardwalk also offers picnic areas and benches for a relaxing break; a parking lot is nearby.
Unfortunately, several paths were gravel or paved; however, there were also some very beautiful sections (besides the moorland path), such as the Mill Path in the Glaadtbach Valley.
So, hiking enthusiasts, put on your hiking boots, pack a picnic, and head out into nature in the High Fens-Eifel National Park.
