Hanging beech on the tumulus
The hanging beech, which can be seen from afar, is a mutation of the common beech, which after its discovery in the Süntel, a small mountain range southwest of Hanover,
is also known as Süntelbuche. Presumably this tree, which is protected as a natural monument, was planted on the barrow around 200 years ago.

The Süntelbuche reminds me of the tree of life from the movie Avatar. 😍 Anyone who knows the film knows what I mean. Splendid
