Several tree circles have been created on the Molenplas. From the Hompesche Molen, you can already see the first tree monument. The oaks, buried under the gravel of the Meuse River 1,500 to 2,000 years ago, have been preserved in this way. These black trees emerged during the gravel mining that created the Molenplas. In memory of the old days, they were placed here as a memorial and landmark.
