The neo-Gothic basilica was built in 1898/99 according to a design by Friedrich Niedermayer. It consists of a nave with a central nave and two side aisles, a transept in front of the recessed choir with a five-eighths end in the north. The church tower, covered with a pointed helmet, is attached to the western transept. Its top floor houses the tower clock and the bell tower behind the sound arcades designed as biforia.
