There used to be seven oak trees near the sand pit. Robbers and other criminals were hanged at this place. The place name is traced back to these seven oak trees. Later seven oak trees were replanted in the village. The oaks are marked as a natural monument.
Source: siebeneichen.info The oak is actually the court tree of our ancestors; the court meeting, called "Thing", met under their shadow, and the elevated judge had to lean against their tribe. The oak under which the dish was held also served as a gallows. The tree, which was so venerable to us, became the "green gallows" of the then short legal process.
