    Frauenkirche, Esslingen am Neckar
Frauenkirche - a jewel of the late Gothic period with a great uniform appearance and is one of the oldest hall churches.
    Description
The Protestant Frauenkirche in Esslingen am Neckar is one of the most outstanding buildings of the southwest German late Gothic period and is one of the oldest hall churches.
The three-aisled Frauenkirche was completed in 1508. The depictions of the life of Mary and the Last Judgement above the two magnificent portals on the south side are particularly worth seeing. The valuable stained glass pictures in the choir are also noteworthy.

The Frauenkirche is said to be the first Gothic hall church in southwest Germany. Almost 200 years was built on her. With the help of the well-known construction families Ensinger and Böblinger, it was completed by 1516 and has a 72 m high tower. Noteworthy are the outside the plastic representations of the Last Judgment and Marienleben in the Tympana on the south side.

Inside there are medieval glass windows in the choir (built around 1330). In the nave, windows by Hans Gottfried von Stockhausen were installed in the nave in the 20th century: the Passion Window to the southeast and the Frauenfenster to the northeast.

Beautiful church with many architectural details. The Frauenkirche came into being as a civil church.
