The Ba Mu Temple Gate (Tam Quan Chùa Bà Mụ) is one of the most photographed sights in Hoi An and an impressive example of Vietnamese temple architecture. The temple complex was built in the 17th century (around 1626). It was originally dedicated to two goddesses: Thien Hau (protector of sailors) and Duc Ong Phat (god of good fortune and children). Unfortunately, only this gate remains; the temple behind it is gone.

The monument was reopened to the public in 2018 after years of restoration. It is particularly picturesque when reflected in the pond in front of it at night.
